Taking Hempel/Crown Paints' generosity into account a balance of £27,000 was required in donations to cover the work needed to complete the repainting of the stripes.

             Donations target has been hit!

Fundraising events - we had street collections; the Lighthouse Challenge where 233 wonderful folk turned up to walk around the Lighthouse on a low spring tide; a book signing by Ronda Armitage who wrote The Lighthouse Keeper books for children; donations from sales of The Beachy Head Lighthouse book by Rob Wassell & lighthouse stationery from Beauty Spot Designs; Eric Ravilious books by James Foster donated by Mainstone Press. Donations of £10,000 from Eastbourne Borough Council; £1000 from the Duke of Devonshire; £2000 from Eastbourne Hospitality Association; £1000 from Beachy Head Countryside Centre; £600 from Eastbourne Allotments Society; £2000 from Eddie Izzard and many other generous donations - both large and small - which helped us reach our target of £27,000. Another walk around the Lighthouse will be arranged next year once the stripes are painted. Details will be posted on here.
